The Challenge

The project involved transforming a complex industrial facility with limited legacy documentation into an accurate digital representation while maintaining ongoing operations. Key challenges included capturing highly dense and interconnected plant systems, achieving millimeter-level accuracy for retrofit and expansion planning, managing large volumes of point cloud data, and ensuring seamless coordination between structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical systems without disrupting facility operations.

Our Solution

Alada Solutions delivered a comprehensive Scan-to-BIM and digital plant modeling strategy utilizing advanced LiDAR scanning, point cloud processing, BIM development, clash detection, and digital twin integration. The solution included high-precision reality capture, point cloud registration and optimization, detailed LOD 300–500 BIM model creation, multidisciplinary coordination, asset tagging, and integration with facility management platforms to establish a centralized and intelligent digital environment for the plant.

The Results

The project successfully delivered a highly accurate as-built digital twin that improved planning efficiency for maintenance, retrofit, and future expansion initiatives. Critical clashes and spatial conflicts were identified and resolved, operational risks were reduced, and asset management capabilities were significantly enhanced through digital integration. The resulting BIM model provides a scalable and future-ready foundation for facility operations, lifecycle management, and long-term infrastructure optimization.
